Marvel Rivals Spring Festival Adds New Costumes and Superhero Soccer Mode
NetEase is kicking off spring early with an upcoming Spring Festival event in Marvel Rivals. Starting January 23rd, the event will introduce new character costumes and a playful 3v3 superhero soccer mini-game.
Three new costumes from the «Clashing Lions» series have been revealed:
- Lion’s Mane for Star-Lord
- Lion’s Gaze for Iron Fist
- Lion’s Heartbeat for Black Widow
Players can earn Star-Lord’s new outfit, nameplate and spray for free by completing event tasks. The other costumes will be added to the game over the following weeks.
The superhero soccer mode, called «Clash of Dancing Lions», pits two teams of 3 against each other as they use their powers to score goals. While not a traditional soccer match, it follows similar principles in a superpowered setting. Matches continue until one team reaches the target score.
On January 30th, Marvel Rivals will also add Spider-Man’s Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This high-tech suit was jointly developed by Doctor Octopus and Peter Parker in the game’s storyline.
NetEase plans to introduce two new playable characters each season to keep the roster fresh. The first season recently added Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, along with various balance changes.
The Spring Festival event aims to bring some festive flair to Marvel Rivals as players battle it out with new looks and game modes. Fans can look forward to more superhero action when the event launches on January 23rd.
